Start gearing up for Summer with an introduction to the world’s most popular alcoholic beverage, beer. Our Beer 101 class will cover what differentiates the main categories, explore its culture around the world, and give you an overview of production and brewing.

Beer 101 includes a tasting of 8 beers representing the major beer styles including Pilsner, English Pale Ale, and Doppelbock.

Emissary is pleased to announce Chicago’s first Rakia Festival. Rakia, a fruit-based brandy from the Balkans, is known for retaining the flavors of its base ingredient. Think fresh apples, raspberries, plums, or apricots distilled into uniquely delicious spirits. While the focus of the event is on Rakia, guests can expect to try brandies from outside of South-Eastern Europe as well.

The event will begin with an informal discussion on the prospects for Rakia in the North American market, followed with a Rakia sipping class, and concluding with a tasting of the many different types of Rakia presented by importers and distributors.
